Real Estate License Renewal and Reciprocity With Texas
Texas does not have real estate license reciprocity with any other state. You must complete all the same requirements as a new agent.
Continuing Education Requirements
Licenses renew every two years. When renewing for the first time, you must complete 270 course hours to keep your license active.
These hours include the 180-hour pre-licensing education. The remaining 90 hours are divided between three 30-hour courses.
For subsequent renewals, you only need 18 hours of CE every two years.1
Becoming a licensed real estate agent in Texas is a fairly straightforward process provided you fulfill all the requirements properly.
